Welcome to the City of Spokane Valley Building Division!

The City of Spokane Valley Building Division is responsible for the ensuring compliance with the State of Washington and City of Spokane Valley Building Codes.  We accept Building Permit Applications, perform plan reviews, issue permits, arrange inspections and approve construction by issuing a Certificates of Occupancy.

We also enforce various City of Spokane Valley ordinances relating to property maintenance and dangerous buildings.

Our employees are trained and certified by nationally recognized trade organizations.  The City of Spokane Valley Building Division is a member of the Washington Association of Building Officials, International Code Council and the National Fire Protection Association.

 The Community Development Director made a presentation to Council during the Dec. 1, 2009 Study Session, regarding comments received during a meeting at the Spokane Valley Business Association and the City’s 6th Developer’s Forum.  Approximately 40 comments were received and have been addressed with a staff response for each from fee schedules to process comments.  Click on this link to be taken to the report and the back-up information for the report.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  To keep Spokane Valley Streets in good condition, no pavement cuts are allowed for three years after the roadway has been paved/repavedView the Map.
