Construction Projects

The Spokane Valley Public Works Department manages all of the City’s construction projects through the Capital Projects Engineering Division. Projects include the construction of new streets, widening or restoration of existing streets and the construction of public buildings and facilities.

Getting through the construction season can be a little easier for businesses and residents with these Tips for Making it Through the Construction Season.

Streets:  Future street improvements within Spokane Valley are listed in the Six Year Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP).  This Six Year TIP is adopted by council in June of each year.  The Six Year TIP identifies projects that currently have funding (with federal, state, and/or local grants) and are able to move forward.  The Six Year TIP also lists those projects that are “planned”.  Planned projects are ones staff will continue to seek grant funding that would allow those projects to move forward.  The letter designation under the title of each project listed in the Six Year TIP identifies whether the project has Secured funding (S) or is a Planned project (P).
